Recruiting a Technical Stage Manager
We are currently seeking a Technical Stage Manager for our latest project, Driving Home: an immersive documentary in a black cab.
Fee: £635 per week plus all travel, accommodation and per diems.
Location: Tour of the UK starting in Hull Freedom Festival
Dates: 2nd September 2026 for 10 weeks + 1 week for close down.
The role of the Technical Stage Manager is to drive the installation to each location and lead the set up with support from the Project Producer.
The post holder must have:
- Experience in setting up and managing AV projects (working with projectors and intricate sound design systems)
- Experience working in non-traditional theatre settings
- Comfortable being audience facing and supporting with front of house
- Comfortable troubleshooting technical issues
- Clean & valid UK drivers licence
- Experience of working in non-traditional theatre venues and first aid training would be a bonus
Job Responsibilities
- To drive the taxi to each location
- Lead on installation 'get-in' / set up and close down with support from the Project Producer.
- Support with management of the installation at each location including resolving any technical problems and supporting with audience engagement.
